Stephen studied Fine Art at Goldsmith's College, and became interested in photography. Professional photography has been his main occupation, but in recent years he has made a return to drawing and painting, and studied printmaking. Stephen now divides his time between these different ways of working, but whatever the chosen medium, all start with drawing, possibly many drawings, and from that creating an image on the spot or back in the studio. He joined Greenwich Printmakers in 2010, having produced a series of prints of the Thames at Greenwich. Although the landscape has been an inspiration, recent work has taken a more abstract approach and an exploration of colour has become the main focus.
